Adultism

gently save me from myself

And suddenly it’s you
You in the spotlight you in the mirror
You can’t hide from the world anymore
You have to survive it

The teachers have gone and now it’s all
Stupid, mean, scary
The real world spares no survivors
Ravaged until you’re gone again

The transition switches your view
From third to first you are in the eyes of all
It seems you can’t be the passenger anymore
Lest you rot before your time comes

The birds stopped singing
And the fae stopped visiting
The hive blinds you little drone
The gray won’t let us in

Atoms existing for no reason but themselves
When does it end?
The pain; does it ever?
You can only hope that it’s quick

Only for the lucky ones will the light shine again
Through the arms of the earth
So we see our god cutting stares into silver,
a void filled with spirits catches your breath
